Quote

A tyrant must put on the appearance of uncommon devotion to religion. Subjects are less apprehensive of illegal treatment from a ruler whom they consider god-fearing and pious. On the other hand, they do less easily move against him, believing that he has the gods on his side.

— Aristotle

Someone at work just pointed us to the BookMooch site, which is a kind of virtual "leave a book, take a book" system, as they describe it. People indicate what books they'll give away, and other people then request them; the currency is a point system. The only real cost is postage.

Intersting idea. The Inquirer has a description and an interview with the founder.
