The Family Dogs  (4 pictures)

Each time we go to Mexico City to visit the family, there's a slightly different cast of doggy characters. There are rarely fewer than three dogs in the family. (This simply has to be a family trait.) This time there were five. We got pictures of four of them.

This is Winnie, a long-haired dachsund. She's been with the family many years, and this is the third time I've offered to take her home with me. I've never met a wiener dog with a calmer disposition.

Here I am in the yard having a snooze with my new friend Rambo. I believe he was named by Diego.

The youngest member of the canine family is a three-month old Pomeranian named Conde ("Count"). However, since he has yet to grow into the full stature of his dignified name, he is more commonly called by the diminuitive Chiquitín ("Tiny").

Adrian and Lucia were visiting from Atlanta and didn't want to leave their dog at home. So Milka, a golden Lab, came along in a crate and had a vacation as well. Poor Milka suffered a bit from the altitude and a rash that she picked up, but otherwise had no problem fitting in with the rest of the pack.
